Returning to 2nd semester
Semester break musings:
Since leaving semester 1, I had been having a really difficult time finding motivation and inspiration. All ideas seem underwhelming and I couldn't push them to the level that I wished for my project. I was unsatisfied with the result of my thesis and the final proposed notion. I was suspended between all ideas and couldn't stand with any in particular.
In the break I went for a bit of a travel and had a sort of idea when sitting on train from Rome to Salerno #travelbrag #namedrop.
Here is one of the most prevalent:
A playlist of stories
What if there was a programme / app / device that was a playlist of sorts but instead of music you got to shuffle though stories told by your loved one(s). The stories could be prompted by questions. So when you're travelling or alone you could shuffle through a sort of audio-biography book but you only got snippets of their life at a time like: tell me about your favourite teacher / pet / thing about your day. Maybe it would shuffle between different people and each time the content was a surprise. I could design earphones and a counterpart device / recorder / app. Maybe the device could vibrate or heat up / cool down / play on the senses according to the story.
Cue Semester 2 / Lecture 1:
